-------------------------------------------------------------------

Total Annihilation is the game that finally took Red Alert's crown
as king of the Real-time strategy games. The Core Contingency add on
pack has breathed new life into it and we're all jolly grateful for
that. The second expansion pack is announced already - Battle Tactics
which looks like being a series of interesting scenarios rather than
anything wildly new. Also coming up is TA:Kingdoms a Wizards and
Warriors type hack and zap based on the same game engine, sounds like
a Warcraft 2 beater.

Most of the sounds are the same as the last theme but with a different
exit wave file (the old one is there if you don't like it) and I fixed
the annoying bit where the boxes were all odd sizes on the startup
screen.
You might not notice it but all the cursors have had an overhaul and
I feel a lot happier about them.
There's some Core based Icons as after all, a day in the Core's like
a day on the farm etc. Oh and check out the cute little construction
Kbot.

INSTALLATION:
-------------

  1) Open the TA.ZIP file in WinZip.
  2) Click on the EXTRACT button.
  3) This will open the Extract Window. In the "Extract To:" box,
make sure it reads the letter of your drive only. This will
     probably be 'C:\'.
  4) In the "Files" box, select "All Files".
  5) Check "Use Folder Names".
  6) Click on the "Extract" button. This will automatically
create a "Ta CC" directory in your themes directory and
     extract the files there.
  7) Load the theme with your Desktop Themes program.

CONVERTING THE JPG:
-------------------
Purely optional, I hate JPGs as they are grainy but BMPs are huge.

   1) Quite simple (good) open the JPG file in Paint. You'll need
to change 'Files of type' to 'All files' and browse your way
      to C:\Program Files\Plus!\Ta CC\
   2) Now just click on 'File', 'Save As' finally 'Save' and paint
should automatically save the file keeping the same name
only now with a .BMP extension instead of .JPG
   3) All you have to do now is Right Click on the desktop, select
      'Properties' and Browse back to
C:\Program Files\Plus!\Ta CC\ to get to the new improved
      Backdrop.

STARTUP AND SHUTDOWN SCREENS:
-----------------------------

   1) Rename your original screens (very important!)
the files are C:\Logo.SYS (call it Logo1.SYS or something)
      C:\Windows\Logos.SYS and C:\Windows\Logow.SYS
   2) Copy the three files in the Screens subdirectory of the
Ta CC directory into their appropriate places.
eg Logo.SYS into the root directory (C:\) and the other two
      into the windows directory (C:\Windows).

If you want to change these screens back, just delete the three
current files and rename the old ones as they were.

If you experience problems with the cursors not animating, select the
mouse from the control panel and click on the pointers tab. Click on
the Waiting and Busy cursors to get them going again.

keep it to yourself.
